The MSing Links are a group of amateur bike riders who have organized to raise money for The National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The MSing Links journey started with Christi and Rob Meglaughlin. In 1993 Christi was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. In an effort to aid the battle against MS, Rob participated in the 1993 MS Walk. Over the next several years friends and family joined the annual fund-raiser. In 1996 Rob branched out and rode in the MS150 Bike Tour. New to the sport, without an experienced guide or a team it was an adventure. In 1997, sidelined by knee problems Rob joined Christi as a volunteer. They brought Brent Eishcen along as a new rider. 1998 saw Rob and Brent both riding and Christi again volunteered. In 1999 the team expanded to include Jay Beadnell. Then in 2000 Rob and Christi persuaded Mary to join the team. In a quest to really impact the National MS Society in 2001 the MSing Links goal was EXPANSION. Christi organized sponsorship and the Team recruited riders. The Team Goal was 10-15 riders raising $10,000. Much to our amazement and joy we greatly underestimated the power of TEAM-work. The 2001 MSing Links team had 34 riders, many wonderful volunteers and our own photographer. The money raised far exceeded our $10,000 goal. We raised $24,305 to aid the National MS Society.
